The COVID-19
Virus curve evokes an image
Of a roller coaster ride ascending ever upward
With unwilling passengers wishing they were elsewhere
While grasping the bar tightly, not wanting to become a fallen statistic
Torn feelings of being anxious to reach, yet fearful of reaching the anticipated peak
The ride pauses as if hung there in time in the most dangerous spot of all, the peak
Some cringe in fear, crying out as the downward plunge commences
Uncertain of what fate awaits them at the end of the run
Grateful for an end but praying that there will be
No COVID-19 roller coaster
Ride ever again
